Essential Requirements

*

Experience supporting children or young people with complex needs

*

Ability to work safely in high-pressure environments, including crisis and de-escalation settings

*

Confident managing behaviours linked to self-harm, suicidal ideation, mental health needs, and challenging behaviour

*

Strong communication skills and ability to follow care plans and safeguarding protocols

*

Resilience, reliability, and commitment to high-quality care

*

Due to the nature of the care provided and the specific personal care needs, emotional wellbeing requirements and safeguarding considerations of the young people accessing crisis and respite support, this position is restricted to women only. This requirement is an Occupational Requirement as permitted under the Equality Act and is essential to delivering safe, dignified and appropriate support within the service

The Role

Provide safe, consistent support to children and young people accessing crisis or respite services

*

Deliver person-centred care and emotional support during periods of distress or crisis

*

Assist with daily living tasks, activities, and routines

*

Maintain clear and accurate records in line with service standards

*

Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure stable, structured care for each young person

*

Promote safety, safeguarding, and positive outcomes at all times
