An adult care service provider offering Day Opportunities, Residential, Reablement and Supported Living services.

Launched October 2022, an independent company that is wholly owned by Dorset Council, a Local Authority Trading Company.

The role

The overall purpose of the Quality Assurance Manager will be:

* To work closely with operational colleagues to ensure the qualities of delivery meets and aims to exceed CQC regulatory requirements

* To be responsible for the quality assurance framework, ensuring that it is reflective of CQC regulatory requirements and best practice

* To have overall responsibility for the handling of complaints

Principle responsibilities and accountabilities

1. To provide expert advice to Directors, management and operational colleagues on quality assurance systems and activities.

2. To ensure that the Quality Assurance Framework is effective in providing a 'window into practice'.

3. To be responsible for scrutinising and monitoring operational activity, ensuring compliance with, and exceeding, the standards required by current legislation, regulation, guidance and practice standards.

4. To provide proactive approach to quality assurance activities within the quality assurance systems to ensure that quality of work across all of the organisation's locations.

5. To report regularly to the executive team and senior operational management on matters relating to quality.

6. To provide ongoing feedback regarding audit outcomes and tracking corrective action.

7. To work closely with operational teams to ensure data is collated from a range of sources effectively to improve quality and performance.

8. To keep up to date with research and changes in relevant legislation, guidance, regulation or practice standards to improve best practice.

9. To conduct investigations following the receipt of complaints, where appropriate but in all cases maintaining oversight as well as ensuring that all learning is captured and acted upon.

10. To manage and coordinate the work of the Quality Assurance Reviewers/Officers.

11. To champion best practice and uphold high standards in service delivery.

Person Specification

Must haves


* Level 5 Diploma in leadership in Health & Social Care or equivalent experience


* Supervisory experience or experience of supporting/ coaching other staff/students/volunteers

* Experience of undertaking quality assurance audits in a CQC regulated setting

* Experience of reviewing existing policies and practices and contributing to the development and implementation of new policy developments.

Skills, abilities and knowledge

• Knowledge of strengths based models of intervention and risk assessment with adults, including Strengths Based approaches

* Extensive knowledge of quality systems

* Extensive understanding of CQC and its inspection regime

* Ability to manage, motivate, supervise and organise staff.

* Able to work and negotiate with colleagues from other disciplines to safeguard and promote the welfare of adults.

* Performance Management Skills-able to plan, monitor and review performance and services against agreed Performance Indicators.

Good to have


* Post Grad degree in Managing Quality Practice in Social Care


* Experience in formal training of colleagues and/or other professionals
