SUMMARY
The Senior Testing Engineer works with a dynamic team dedicated to the design, development and maintenance of the next generation multi-physics coupling simulation software. This role is responsible for testing software to ensure product requirements and quality standards are satisfied and to help assess how well the product meets the customer needs in terms of functionality and usability. Develops and applies customized test procedures and works closely with other members of the product creation team making significant contribution to the business in multiple areas of testing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs software product testing and investigates possible causes of problems according to the company's overall development and testing processes.

• Analyzes requirements and develop test plans suitable for new features

• Specifies, Creates, updates, and modifies advanced test cases for state-of-the-art coupling/mapping engine used to couple 0D, 1D, 2D and 3D participants in multi-physics simulations

• Performs functional, application, regression and performance tests in a manual and/or automated test environment following agile development practices

• Executes industrial strength cases to investigate possible causes of problems

• Identifies and reproduces product defects and works with developers to determine the best resolution and verifies defect fixes.

• Plans and implements testing initiatives.

• Performs coverage analysis and takes responsibility for test coverage.

• Regularly coaches others and may act as the lead for a specific area of testing.

• Coordinates with other teams to identify cross team testing activities.

• Works in various computing environments: Windows, Linux, VM's, Compute Clusters, Cloud

• Performs other duties as assigned to improve the overall quality of ANSYS Inc. products

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering or other engineering discipline

• Minimum 8 years professional experience as software testing engineer

• Excellent user level experience with engineering simulation tools and associated engineering principles

• Experience with one or more programming or scripting languages, such as Python, Javascript, C#, C++ or shell scripting

• Extremely strong in written and interpersonal communication skills

• Thrives in a fast paced, diverse and dynamic team

• A thorough and careful approach to work; close attention to detail and quality

• Skilled in detecting software defects, problem solving, planning and estimation techniques

• Has a track record of 'wins' during participation in a number of projects and has proved as an essential resource to those projects

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's Degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering or other engineering discipline and 2 years professional experience as software testing engineer.

• Experience using system-level, fluids, thermal, structural and/or electromagnetics simulation

• Experience with ANSYS coupled multi-physics simulations preferred

• Knowledge of test-driven development and experience with the agile development process are desirable
