About the Role

We are seeking dedicated and experienced Alternative Provision Tutors to deliver high-quality 1:1 or small-group tuition to students across the Cheshire East local authority. You will support learners who require additional, personalised education outside the traditional classroom setting, working closely with schools, local authority teams, and families.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping young people re-engage with education, build confidence, and achieve meaningful academic progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver tailored tuition sessions in line with students' needs and education plans.
  • Work with students who may have SEND, SEMH needs, disengagement from school, or medical barriers to attendance.
  • Maintain regular communication with schools, parents/carers, and local authority representatives.
  • Track student progress and provide clear, timely reports.
  • Ensure safeguarding and wellbeing are prioritised at all times.
  • Deliver tuition only within school hours (typically 9am-3pm).
Requirements
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service - essential
  • Teaching experience (QTS/QTLS, or significant tutoring experience with relevant expertise)
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and adapt teaching to a range of learner needs
  • Access to transport to travel between locations in Cheshire East
