Job Title: Teaching Assistant / Student Support Staff
Start Date: June / July 2025

Due to our continued and planned growth, we are inviting applications for the role of Teaching Assistant (TA) / Student Support Staff to join our dedicated team from June or July 2025.

At this School, Teaching Assistants and Student Support Staff play a pivotal role in supporting students who require a different approach to the learning environment. The successful candidate will be part of a strong, supportive team committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

*

Supporting students 1:1 or in small groups, focusing on those who require additional guidance to thrive in a classroom setting.

*

Working as part of a team of three Student Support Staff who collaborate closely to provide consistent and compassionate support.

*

Helping students develop positive social skills and emotional regulation strategies.

*

Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour in line with school policies and training.

Essential Attributes:

*

Strong behaviour management skills - whether with individuals or whole classes.

*

A positive, resilient attitude and a good sense of humour.

*

Ability to remain calm and supportive, especially when working with students exhibiting challenging behaviour.

*

Commitment to building trusting, respectful relationships with students.

Desirable Experience:

*

Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

*

Background in either a mainstream or special school, or other settings involving youth engagement.

Duties May Include:

*

Supporting teaching staff in delivering engaging lessons.

*

Providing targeted interventions and mentoring.

*

Assisting with classroom management and behaviour support.

*

Helping students navigate their school day, including transitions between lessons or activities.

Training and ongoing support will be provided to help you succeed in this rewarding role.
