We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner to join a specialist mental health and rehabilitation service for adults with complex needs, including behaviours that challenge. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team within a purpose-built hospital setting.

Role Overview

As a PBS Practitioner, you will contribute directly to the development and delivery of personalised behaviour support plans. You’ll assess behaviour, implement evidence-based interventions, and work closely with service users and colleagues to promote positive outcomes, reduce restrictive practices, and support meaningful recovery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess challenging behaviour and conduct functional assessments

  • Develop and implement individualised PBS plans

  • Support the delivery of therapeutic care across inpatient and outpatient settings

  • Deliver PBS training and mentoring to staff

  • Monitor progress and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions

  • Contribute to a positive, person-centred culture within the service

Requirements:
  • Qualification in Positive Behaviour Support or a related field (e.g., BSc in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis)

  • Proven experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or complex behaviours

  • Strong knowledge of PBS frameworks, restrictive practice reduction, and person-centred planning

  • Excellent communication, report writing, and training skills

  • A full UK driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
