We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner to join a specialist mental health and rehabilitation service for adults with complex needs, including behaviours that challenge. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team within a purpose-built hospital setting.
Role Overview As a PBS Practitioner, you will contribute directly to the development and delivery of personalised behaviour support plans. You’ll assess behaviour, implement evidence-based interventions, and work closely with service users and colleagues to promote positive outcomes, reduce restrictive practices, and support meaningful recovery.
Key Responsibilities: -
Assess challenging behaviour and conduct functional assessments

Develop and implement individualised PBS plans

Support the delivery of therapeutic care across inpatient and outpatient settings

Deliver PBS training and mentoring to staff

Monitor progress and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions

Contribute to a positive, person-centred culture within the service
Requirements: -
Qualification in Positive Behaviour Support or a related field (e.g., BSc in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis)

Proven experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or complex behaviours

Strong knowledge of PBS frameworks, restrictive practice reduction, and person-centred planning

Excellent communication, report writing, and training skills

A full UK driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
