Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a number of dedicated special needs schools across Hertfordshire, including areas such as Watford, Hatfield, St Albans, Stevenage, Potters Bar, and Borehamwood.

We are currently seeking Special Needs Teaching Assistants (SEN TAs) to join these schools from September 2025, supporting students across the full spectrum of needs including:

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)Whether you're looking for long-term full-time placements or part-time flexible roles, we have a variety of opportunities available throughout the 2025/26 academic year.

What we're looking for:

The ideal candidate will:

Have experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (preferred but not essential)
Communicate effectively using both verbal and non-verbal methods
Be able to adapt their approach to suit a variety of learning styles and individual needs
Remain calm and supportive, particularly during challenging moments
Understand and apply principles of positive behaviour support
