Position: Pest Control Operative
Contract Type: Temporary
Hourly Rate: From £14.13
Start Date: August 1, 2025
End Date: January 31, 2026

What You'll Do:

As a Pest Control Operative, you will play a vital role in maintaining the health and safety of our community. Your responsibilities will include:

Responding to service requests and complaints across the borough.
Conducting risk assessments and determining the nature of infestations.
Complying with Health & Safety requirements and preparing appropriate pesticides.
Laying baits, poisons, and traps to effectively manage pest issues.
Performing follow-up treatments and ensuring proper disposal of pests.
Collecting payments for services rendered and managing financial records.

Main Duties:

Safeguarding vehicles, equipment, and pesticides in line with Council policies.
Visiting domestic and commercial premises to provide tailored pest control treatments.
Assisting in drain testing and sewer inspections.
Promoting our Pest Control services to commercial clients and assisting in contract pricing.
Maintaining accurate records and files in both manual and computerised formats.

What We're Looking For:

Skills & Knowledge: - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.- Strong numerical and cash handling abilities.- Ability to work well in a team and independently with minimal supervision.- Commitment to customer care and valuing diversity.

Experience: - Minimum 2 years of experience in pest control or equivalent.- Relevant qualifications (e.g., BPCA or RSH certification) are highly desirable.

Physical Requirements: - Capable of lifting heavy weights and working in confined spaces.- A current driving licence is essential.
