This is a new role, created to support a busy Group Financial Controller with completion of all accounting matters for their various legal entities. The position will play a key part during the month end process, supporting the AP & AR team to ensure all transactions are recorded correctly and provide stakeholders with visibility of cost movements across the business. The appointment is central to the succession plan and represents an excellent career opportunity for both professional and personal development.

Key responsibilities:

• Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts
• Preparing financial statements to meet regulatory requirements
• Reconcile intercompany transactions across multiple entities
• Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
• Prepare Vat returns for legal entities in different jurisdictions
• Tax and Government reporting for sustainability requirements
• Reporting on periodic variances and their causes
• Analysis of monthly spending and review with operations team
• Participate in projects that drive efficiency and process improvement
• Provide technical support to accounting team and finance leaders

The role requires a strong knowledge of accounting principles and would suit a recently or nearly qualified CIMA or ACCA / ACA accountant, or first time mover out of practice into industry. You will gain experience of working in cross-functional teams, acquisition / integration activities, and developing accounting functions in new geographies. Suitable applicants must have high energy, well developed interpersonal skills and be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in addition to routine activity.
