Location: Preston, Lancashire
Contract Type: Locum - Part-Time - Mon-Fri (Can be flexible with hours, 18.75 per week)
Hourly Rate: £30+

Contract Length: 3 - 6 months (with potential to extend)

We are seeking an experienced and autonomous Band 7 ADHD Nurse who is a qualified Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) to join a specialist Neurodevelopmental Team on a locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work with children and young people diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), supporting assessment, prescribing, titration, and ongoing medication reviews.
You will be joining a highly supportive multidisciplinary team focused on delivering safe, effective, and person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct ADHD assessments and support the diagnostic process
Initiate, titrate, and review ADHD medications in line with local and national guidelines
Provide psychoeducation to patients and families regarding ADHD and treatment options
Collaborate with consultant psychiatrists, paediatricians, and allied professionals
Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records
Participate in MDT meetings, service development, and clinical supervision

Essential Requirements
NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Nurse (RN Child)
V300 Non-Medical Prescribing qualification (active and valid)
Minimum 1 year's experience in ADHD or neurodevelopmental services
Strong clinical decision-making and prescribing skills
Enhanced DBS check (mandatory)
Familiarity with NICE guidelines and ADHD care pathways

Desirable
Experience using tools such as QbTest, SNAP-IV, or Conners scales
Experience working in CAMHS or community paediatrics
Confidence in working independently and remotely (if applicable)
