An established and growing Building Services consultancy is seeking a highly experienced Principal or Associate Electrical Engineer to lead their Electrical Design function and play a pivotal role in the delivery of complex M&E projects across the healthcare, education, and public-sector sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business with a strong project pipeline and the autonomy to shape both team performance and client relationships.

The Role

As Principal/Associate Electrical Engineer, you will:

Lead and manage the Electrical Design Department.

*

Oversee M&E delivery on a range of healthcare, education, and public-sector projects.

*

Operate as the Lead M&E Engineer from initial concept through to project completion.

*

Coordinate internal M&E teams and collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary colleagues.

*

Build and maintain strong client relationships, representing the business at a senior level.

*

Mentor, support and develop junior engineers.

*

Contribute to the strategic direction and growth of the business.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

*

A degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.

*

Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or clear progression working toward chartership.

*

Current experience in Building Services Engineering, ideally with exposure to both healthcare and education projects.

*

Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the confidence to influence and guide both clients and colleagues.

*

Strong commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to business planning.

*

Solid technical knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations, including NHS guidance and healthcare technical requirements
