This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing construction and trades department that puts student success and progression at the heart of everything they do.
🔨 The Role
You will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across a range of Carpentry & Joinery programmes (up to Level 3). You'll support learners to reach their full potential, preparing them for employment, further education or apprenticeships.
Your role will also include:
Developing schemes of work, lesson plans, and high-quality teaching materials
Assessing and giving constructive feedback on student progress
Supporting learners' pastoral needs and contributing to their overall development
Engaging with curriculum development and quality improvement
Participating in employer engagement and open events
✅ What We're Looking For
Essential:
A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent)
A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent)
Maths and English at GCSE Grade C/4 or above
Recent industry experience in the carpentry & joinery sector
Ability to motivate and engage learners, manage behaviour effectively, and deliver exceptional lessons
Desirable:
Assessor/Verifier qualifications
Experience of using value-added performance measures
A proven track record of forming industry links to enhance teaching & learning
