Full-Time | Permanent

£50,000 Monday-Friday office hours, 36.5 per week contract hours

About the Role

As the Automation & Control Engineer, you'll be the go-to expert for all things related to industrial control systems (ICS). From PLC programming to SCADA development, you'll ensure our automated systems run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your technical insight will directly influence production uptime and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Lead programming, troubleshooting, and optimization of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and electrical control systems.
Act as the site authority on ICS, supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term strategy.
Manage vendor relationships and service contracts for ICS support.
Maintain and develop control system documentation and backups.
Drive obsolescence planning and system upgrades in collaboration with reliability engineering.
Specify and procure control system components and oversee installations.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and capital projects.
Maintain and update electrical schematics and system configurations.What We're Looking For

Degree in Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience (5+ years preferred).
Strong background in PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and SCADA systems (Ignition, InTouch).
Proficient in industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Profibus).
Skilled in reading electrical schematics and P&IDs.
Experience in commissioning and supporting automated systems.
Knowledge of ATEX/DSEAR, Lean, Six Sigma, or Process Safety is a plus.What's in It for You
