Reed Insurance are currently working with a client who are looking to add a Property Underwriter to join their expanding team. The ideal candidate will have an excellent working knowledge and understanding of PROPERTY OWNERS Insurance. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and dynamic Managing General Agent.

Your role will be:

  • To be a point of contact for our broker partners and deliver exceptional customer service as part of our existing business teams. You will underwrite and produce renewal terms or mid-term adjustments within the underwriting appetite of our Insurer partners
  • Be a team player and contribute to the growth and retention strategy targets by negotiating terms and securing renewals, whilst working within your personal licence authority and binder agreements
  • To take ownership of your work, prioritise, meet deadlines, ensure you follow the processes in place whilst constantly looking for opportunities to improve the customer journey
  • Develop your own skills and knowledge as well as embracing the technical and soft skills coaching and training we will provide throughout your career with us

You will need:

  • Good knowledge of underwriting principles and practice
  • Good risk analysis and technical skills
  • A team player but also self-motivated
  • Demonstrate a trading mindset and commercial awareness
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation and verbal and written communication
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Good judgement, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use your initiative and work well under pressure
