Powell UK are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join our team.
The Maintenance Department is responsible for the maintenance of the company machines, processes, and tools. The department carries out installations and repairs and ensures the general upkeep of the building and surrounding areas. The department is responsible for monitoring the use of utilities and identifying and carrying out reduction opportunities with regards usage.
This role would be ideal for someone with experience of repairing and servicing CNC machinery either on a standalone basis or within a small team.
Key Accountabilities:
- Ensure equipment complies with and is used and maintained in accordance with all Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
- E.g. PUWER, LOLER, PAT Testing, etc.
- Undertake risk assessments and create method statements or action plans to ensure safe working practices whilst carrying out their duties
- Maintain and service machines, equipment, utilities and resources in accordance with manufacturers or suppliers recommendations
- Carry out preventive maintenance checks, to enable proactive rather than reactive identification and rectification of faults
- To order and maintain hand tools and general stock levels
- To perform all general maintenance duties
- To maintain documentation and records relevant to the maintenance function

- Strong communication skills.
- The Maintenance Department is operated by a small team. Effective and regular communication between department members and both external and internal business departments is crucial.
- The ability to effectively communicate using both verbal and written communication that delivers high levels of confidence in those dealt with.

Employment, Educational and Professional Background:
- Minimum requirement of City & Guilds or NVQ level 3 Electrical, with experience in CNC machines and mechanical fitting and/or a background of working in a CNC machinery environment.
- The ability to read and understand electrical drawings, a basic knowledge of fault finding and a good working knowledge of electrical installation work.
- To have a good working knowledge of Electrical or mechanical installation work
- The ability to work alone or lead a small team repairing and servicing CNC machinery.

Our core hours of work are Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm.
Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
