About this Position:
Our client is seeking an experienced engineering specialist to support the design and implementation of safety detection systems for gas turbine installations. The role focuses on fuel gas detection, oil mist detection, fire detection and suppression, ensuring safe integration with enclosure designs and existing fire protection systems.

Job Responsibilities:

Prepare specifications for oil mist, gaseous fuel and fire detection systems for gas turbine installations

*

Carry out risk and hazard assessments to support design decisions

*

Work with design teams and suppliers to determine sensor locations and reduce stagnation zones

*

Support the selection of suitable detection sensors and systems

*

Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards, including NFPA, IEC, ISO and ATEX

*

Confirm all supplied sensors have the required testing and compliance certification

*

Support integration, installation and commissioning activities

*

Develop and carry out testing to validate system performance and compliance

*

Provide technical support during audits, inspections and regulatory reviews

Experience Required:

*

Degree in Engineering, such as Mechanical, Chemical, Instrumentation or similar

*

Strong experience in safety systems for gas turbine power plants, covering fuel gas detection, oil mist detection, fire detection and suppression

*

Expertise in gas detection technologies, including infrared, catalytic bead and electrochemical sensors

*

Knowledge of fire detection and suppression systems such as CO?, FM-200, NOVEC 1230 and water mist

*

Good understanding of safety codes, hazard identification, HAZOP and risk mitigation

*

Experience in system testing, validation and supplier engagement

*

Strong communication, documentation and stakeholder management skills
