Head of Finance / Finance Director (Part-Time)

Location: Bournemouth (Office-Based) Commitment: 2-3 days per week

The Role

In this part-time senior finance role, you'll step into a genuinely influential position where your expertise will shape the financial future of the business. You'll provide high-level governance, oversee financial controls and ensure the organisation is supported by strong, qualified capability. This is a role for someone who enjoys combining strategic thinking with hands-on oversight-reviewing management accounts, guiding commercial decision-making, and ensuring everything from tax compliance to operational finance runs smoothly. It's an opportunity to become the trusted senior voice on finance, working closely with leaders, advisers and external partners to maintain strong financial health and drive continuous improvement.

You'll also play a pivotal role in developing people and processes. Day-to-day, you'll lead and mentor a capable finance team, strengthening their skills, building clear development pathways and championing smarter reporting and insight. You'll enhance the revenue cycle, oversee key systems such as Sage and Synergist, and support long-term planning through budgeting and strategic input. Ideal CandidateWe are looking for a finance professional who brings:

• 5+ years' commercial finance experience within professional services.
• A governance-first approach and confidence overseeing operational finance delivery.
• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification (or equivalent senior experience).
• Strong proficiency in Sage
• Proven expertise in management accounts, KPI reporting and financial controls.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience reviewing PAYE/NIC, employee benefits and VAT submissions.
• High integrity, professionalism and excellent communication skills.
• Preferred: exposure to creative, digital or advertising agency environments.
