We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Music Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and inclusive SEN school community in Hillingdon. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about music and education, with a desire to support students in developing their musical talents and creativity.

About the Role:

As a Music Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of the music curriculum across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will work closely with the classroom teacher to provide both 1:1 and small group support, assisting students in developing their musical skills, fostering a love for music, and ensuring that all learners can achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in planning and delivering engaging music lessons under the guidance of the class teacher.
Provide tailored support to students with a range of abilities and learning needs.
Help set up and maintain music equipment and resources for lessons and extracurricular activities.
Lead small group sessions, focusing on music theory, practical skills, and instrument tuition.
Encourage and inspire students to take part in music clubs, performances, and other extracurricular activities.
Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Support the classroom teacher in assessing student progress and providing feedback.

About You:

A passion for music and the ability to inspire students of all ages and abilities.
Experience in working with children or young people, ideally in a school or educational setting.
A good understanding of music theory, practical musicianship, and different musical genres.
A positive and proactive approach to supporting students' learning and development.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
A willingness to learn and develop your skills as a teaching assistant.

Desirable:

A background in music education or qualifications in music (e.g., GCSE, A-Level, or Degree).
Experience in playing a musical instrument (e.g., piano, guitar, voice, etc.).
Knowledge of current teaching practices and educational strategies.
Either live in Hillingdon or within a commutable distance
