Are you organised, practical, and passionate about supporting young people in developing essential life skills? Our welcoming secondary school in Newham is seeking a dedicated Food Technician to join our Food & Nutrition department.

About the Role:As our Food Technician, you will play a key part in ensuring high-quality, well-resourced practical food lessons. You will support teachers and students in creating a safe, efficient, and inspiring learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing ingredients, equipment, and resources for practical food lessons

• Ensuring kitchens and food rooms are clean, organised, and meet health & safety and food hygiene standards

• Supporting students during practical lessons where needed

• Managing stock, ordering supplies, and maintaining accurate inventory

• Maintaining and cleaning equipment, including routine checks

• Assisting with displays, resources, and extracurricular activities such as cooking clubs

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working in a school food technology environment or professional kitchen (preferred)

• Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety procedures

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

• Friendly, reliable, and able to work independently

• A proactive attitude and a willingness to support both staff and students
