A welcoming and inclusive primary academy in Bristol is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join the team from April.

About the Role

You will work as part of a dedicated team supporting pupils' learning and development across the academy.

The role involves providing targeted support for individuals or small groups of pupils, helping them access the curriculum and build confidence in their learning.

A key focus of this position will be supporting phonics and early reading development, helping children build strong foundations in literacy.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils during learning activities in the classroom

  • Delivering targeted support for phonics and reading development

  • Working closely with teachers to support lesson delivery

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning

  • Helping create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for someone who is:

  • Flexible and able to adapt to the needs of pupils and the classroom

  • Knowledgeable about child development and early learning

Experience supporting phonics and early reading would be particularly valuable.

Applicants should hold NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) or be working towards a relevant qualification. Experience working with children in either mainstream or specialist educational settings would be beneficial.
