Responsibilities Are you seeking a new Sales challenge in a growing and expanding Life Sciences industry? We are currently seeking a motivated Business Development Director as part of a new client acquisition team tasked with winning consulting and outsourcing contracts throughout ever-growing life science industries. This is a demanding position suited for a seasoned professional who understands and thrives on developing a new client base. He or she will be leading and coordinating sales activity, utilizing expertise and other resources such as domain experts and client relations teams to meet and exceed sales targets for our clinical, biometric services, pharmacovigilance, and regulatory. The Regional Sales Director needs to close business in line with pre-agreed sales targets by generating enough leads in various accounts assigned. The position will manage the end-to-end sales process for all opportunities, including initial client communication, on-site presentations, RFI response, multi-day client workshops, RFP/RFI submission, negotiations, and contract execution. The roles and responsibilities of the Sales Director include the following:
· Proactively refining lead generation process and sales presentations for engaging customers/prospects.
· Actively participating RFP responses.
· Increasing the ratio of RFPs to RFQs for large projects.
· Being involved in time/effort estimates.
· Sufficiently positioning FMD K&L’s solutions, services, and key advantages, and differentiating us from other service providers to generate interest within the target audience.
· Complying with quality, confidentiality, and security standards.
· Adhering to and following quality systems, processes, and policies. Education / Experience
· Graduate / postgraduate in relevant field, preferably from a business or science background.
· Minimum 7 - 10 years of experience in sales in a service industry for life science, pharma, and healthcare organizations; experience in the US pharmaceutical industry OR working in the CRO industry is preferred.
· Knowledge of the Phase I-IV Studies, Biostatistics, SAS Programming, Data Management, Safety/Pharmacovigilance and Medical Writing.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong business and sales acumen.
· Ability to hold meaningful engagements with customers and clients.
· Ability to drive performance and develop relationships.
· Proven experience in formulating solutions and proposals for problems of a strategic nature.
· Passion for networking and updating oneself with the latest market trends and relate them to identifying business opportunities.
· Understanding of the pharmaceutical business and various functions.
· Exposure working with life science and healthcare industries.
· Ability to build relations and close business deals.
