Our client is looking for an experienced project finance financial modeler to support their growing pipeline of renewable energy projects.
The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in structuring, developing, and optimising financial models to support investment decisions, project financing, and strategic planning. The successful applicant should have a deep understanding of project finance principles, advanced Excel modelling skills, and prior exposure to the renewable energy sector or infrastructure consulting.

Responsibilities:
• Build, audit, and maintain complex, dynamic project finance models (debt and equity structures) in Excel
• Conduct scenario/sensitivity analyses, financial feasibility studies, and valuation assessments for renewable energy projects (solar, hydro, wind, etc.)
• Support bid submissions, term sheet negotiations, and financing processes with robust financial modelling and analysis
• Interface with internal teams (engineering, legal, development) and external stakeholders (lenders, investors, advisors)
• Develop presentation materials for investment committees, lenders, and development partners
• Perform risk analysis, project IRR/NPV calculations, debt sizing, and covenant testing
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to inform project structuring and financing strategy
• Monitor project performance and support periodic re-forecasting and refinancing efforts
Key skills:
• Expert-level Excel skills, including VBA/macros and model optimization techniques.
• Strong grasp of project finance concepts: DCF, IRR, debt sizing, DSCR, equity returns, waterfall modelling, etc.
• Familiarity with financial close processes, lender requirements, and PPP/PPA structures.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Experience with financial modelling software such as @Risk, Python-based tools, or renewables-specific platforms.
• CFA, ACA, CPA, or similar financial certification.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, tariff structures, and permitting processes in renewable energy markets.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field
• A minimum of four years of experience in financial modelling, with at least two years in project finance for infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
• A background in a renewable energy developer, investment firm, or consulting/advisory environment is highly preferred.
