Domestic Violence & Child Advocacy Center is seeking a full time community advocate for our confidential emergency shelter. The Community Advocate works to ensure that clients exiting DVCAC’s emergency shelter have continued access to case management and advocacy services. The Community Advocate will provide ongoing case management, safety planning, and advocacy services to victims of domestic violence exiting Emergency Shelter and assist clients in achieving goals to increase safety, maintain safe housing, build self-sufficiency, and promote healthy life choices. Duties include but not limited to: assisting clients in developing individualized case plans that focus on identifying barriers to maintaining stable housing; providing case management for housing stability, crisis intervention, and safety planning to clients; assisting clients in obtaining and maintaining linkages to community resources; and maintaining case records. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field or equivalent years of experience required. Master’s Degree and 2 years’ experience working with domestic violence cases and group facilitation preferred. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license.
