GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school setting in Dartford. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students who require additional learning support.

About the School: This school teaches children and young people aged 2 to 19 with a range of additional needs, including autism, social and emotional challenges, and learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN, ensuring they can access the curriculum.
Assist the class teacher in managing classroom behaviour and delivering tailored learning activities.
Help create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment.
Monitor student progress and report observations to teaching staff and SENCO.
Support pupils with personal care and social development, if required.
Requirements:

Proven experience working with children or young people with SEN (e.g., ASD, SEMH, SLD).
Must be able to travel to Dartford reliably—drivers are ideal; if not, public transport access is essential.
A positive, resilient, and empathetic attitude.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
