Support Worker (Children & Adults)

We are seeking a compassionate Support Worker to provide dedicated care and support to both children and adults in Stockport. This role involves attending to the physical and emotional needs of individuals with complex needs in their homes, adhering to tailored care plans. This position is ideal for someone passionate about making a significant impact on the lives of individuals in their own environment and is available for evening and weekend shifts.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide attentive care to children and adults, addressing both their physical and emotional needs in their home environment.
  • Follow detailed care plans tailored to each individual's specific needs, including those with complex needs and requirements for personal care.
  • Maintain a safe and nurturing environment for the individuals.
  • Monitor and report any changes in the conditions of individuals to relevant professionals.
  • Ensure all interactions and activities are conducted in a respectful and professional manner, adhering to all safeguarding protocols.
  • Travel between homes in the community, ensuring timely and efficient care delivery.
  • Availability for evening and weekend shifts is essential.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 6 months care-related experience in the UK, preferably with children and adults.
  • Must be able to provide references for the last 5 years of work.
  • Strong awareness of safeguarding issues and protocols, especially related to vulnerable groups.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals and their families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Empathetic and compassionate nature, with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
  • An up-to-date DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service. If you need to apply for a new DBS, we can support you with this.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Suitability to work with vulnerable groups in a care setting, including providing personal care and support for those with complex needs.
