VAT Assistant Manager Reed are pleased to be recruiting for a VAT Assistant Manager to join the advisory team at a growing Top 100 firm based in central London. This role offers a blend of technical VAT advisory work, client management, and support to our compliance and Tax Disputes and Resolutions teams.
Day to Day of the role: - Directly assist the VAT Director & VAT Manager with technical VAT advisory work.
- Manage smaller distinct VAT advisory queries and projects, tailoring your approach to your skill set.
- Advise and support the compliance team, enhancing their understanding and application of VAT.
- Collaborate with the TDR team on complex disclosures and negotiations with HMRC.
- Contribute to VAT training within the advisory and compliance teams and across the firm.
- Participate in VAT marketing initiatives and help develop the firm’s VAT offering.
- Build relationships within our international network to support and generate new business.
- Assist in targeting new industry sectors and developing new technical areas of VAT.
- Oversee quoting, budgeting, and billing for VAT work undertaken.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - 1-5 years’ experience in providing VAT advice.
- Knowledge in areas such as property development, construction, sales, and financial services is advantageous.
- Experience with VAT compliance, HMRC procedures, and cross-border VAT rules is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for participating in marketing initiatives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and billing software.
- University or professional qualifications in Accountancy, Law, or Tax are beneficial.
