Role: Business Development Manager - Staffing Services 
Location: Santa Clara, CA  
Type: Permanent (FTE)

Akraya's Women Back to Work Program has become a movement. The purpose of WBW is to create systemic pathways to facilitate those returning to work while enabling companies to hire exceptional diverse talent.  This Business Development Manager role will reside in the Women Back to Workgroup. It is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for identifying and developing opportunities at customers through the initiation or expansion of diversity and inclusion programs. 

The Business Development Manager will be the first contact with an organization to introduce and advocate for a Return to Work and our diversity and inclusion program.This role will develop relationships in both already identified and new organizations, educating and expanding potential clients' understanding of the program and services offered in order to increase the impact of the program.  

When new opportunities are captured, the Business Development Manager will work with the Women Back to Work program team to transition and initiate the program with the client. 
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

  • Evangelize WBW's 'Return to Work' offerings to Chief Diversity officers, to Talent Acquisition and Technology Leaders 

  • Maintaining current client relationships and identifying potential Partnerships 

  • Develop strong relationships.   

  • Developing new sales areas and improving sales through various methodologies  

  • Researching trends and creating new opportunities to increase partnerships.  

  • Collaborating with Women Back to Work leadership and program team to meet target goals for the development of accounts 

  • Maintaining a strong understanding of the diversity and inclusion space, including programs developing in companies and the overall market. 

  • Work closely with Marketing to follow up on leads generated  

  • Identifying and innovating different ways to serve businesses and the program.  

  • Use of social media to increase partnerships.  

Skills and Qualifications:  

  • Passion for expanding diversity and inclusion in the workplace; personal experience re-entering the workforce is a plus 

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field preferred  

  • Proven sales/Business development experience; experience in the recruiting industry is a plus 

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills  

  • A learning mindset and ability to innovate on new ways to expand a program to align with opportunities in the marketplace  

  • Excellent organizational skills to meet goals and set priorities  

  • Innate drive to succeed and take initiative; ability to work independently
