Junior Quantity Surveyor | Dublin 11, D11 WP7V - Head Office Based | Full Time | €35,000.00-€40,000.00 per year

Our client is a leading commercial fitout company operating in Ireland with projects nationwide. Their main office is located in Blanchardstown, Dublin 11. They have a large range of clients operating in all sectors and a diverse work portfolio. They provide not just a turnkey solution for their clients but also a long-term partnership.

They have an excellent opportunity for an ambitious entry level Quantity Surveyor to grow as a construction professional. The role will interest individuals who are highly motivated with a strong desire to work in a successful and growing company. The successful candidate will work alongside the head Quantity Surveyor assisting with day to day duties and report to the Managing Director.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • Graduate/1 Year Quantity Surveyor experience
  • Full clean drivers' license
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent English and eligibility to work in Ireland
  • Financial and numeracy skills
  • Detailed knowledge of the legal building regulations and requirements
  • Confident and experienced in the use of Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word

What will your role look like?

  • Attending pre and post tender meetings, reviewing tender enquiries, including bills of quantities, estimating and tendering on commercial and industrial projects and preparing tender and contract documents
  • Assessment and negotiation of variations and claims
  • Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops
  • Liaising with site managers on financial matters relating to contracts, performing risk, value management and cost control
  • Negotiation and agreement of variations with sub-contractors
  • Certifying progress claims and payments to contractors against work completed
  • Attend meetings to provide QS input, review project progress and present project data as appropriate
  • Assist with the preparation of contract final accounts for the works, sign offs and interim payments
  • Analyse potential/actual outcomes and producing detailed progress reports
