Senior RF IC Design Engineer - Essex - up to £80,000

Mploy Group is working with a pioneering semiconductor manufacturer to recruit a Senior RF IC Design Engineer for a senior position within their advanced product development team.

This is a hands-on role where you'll take the lead in designing, simulating, and verifying complete RF/analogue sub-systems for next-generation sub-6G ICs. You'll be a recognised authority in RF circuit design, mentoring junior engineers, shaping best practices, and delivering first-time-right silicon.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design of high-performance RF/analogue building blocks including LNAs, mixers, oscillators, filters, VGAs, TIAs, PAs, PLLs, high-speed multiplexers, bias networks, and bandgaps.

Apply BiCMOS and RF-CMOS processes to deliver innovative, production-ready solutions.

*

Oversee design reviews, collaborate with verification and test teams, and ensure robust characterisation.

*

Produce detailed design documentation to support production, testing, and product lifecycle management.

Candidate Profile

*

MSc, PhD, or equivalent in electronics or related field.

*

5+ years of RF/analogue IC design experience.

*

Strong grasp of RF principles: linearity, noise, stability, mismatch.

*

Proven track record with SiGe Bipolar and CMOS processes.

*

Skilled in Cadence Virtuoso and associated EDA tools.

*

Familiarity with EM simulation tools and IC layout.

*

Confident communicator with proven mentoring ability.
