Job Title: Male Teaching Assistant (SEN School)

About the Role:We are looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Male Teaching Assistant to join our Special Educational Needs (SEN) school. This role involves supporting students with a range of additional needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and behavioural challenges. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop independence, and feel supported in a safe and structured environment.
This position is open to male applicants in line with occupational requirements, as the role may involve providing personal care and supporting male students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in the classroom and during specialist activities
- Work closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored learning plans
- Provide one-to-one and small group support
- Assist with personal care where required
- Help manage behaviour in a calm and positive manner
- Encourage social interaction and emotional development
- Support students during break times, trips, and extracurricular activities
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred)
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential
