Senior Support Worker - Residential Care Home, Learning Disabilities

Care Through The Millennium are a well-established private residential care and supported living provider who offer support to vulnerable adults, we offer our employees comprehensive training programmes and excellent development opportunities in a caring and supportive environment.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our dedicated team supporting vulnerable adults with a Learning disability and complex needs in Shirley, South Birmingham. You will play a pivotal role in providing leadership to a small team of support staff, ensuring high-quality, person-centred support for our service users. The successful Senior Support Worker will demonstrate compassion and empathy in their approach and possesses strong leadership and team-building skills.

Responsibilities

* Offer guidance, development and support to the staff team, acting as a mentor

* Assist the Management team in the day to day running of the home and supporting with administration as designated

* Conduct one to one meetings with team members

* Support new team members during induction and probationary period

* Participate in assessing and planning to meet the service users' needs

* Take part in meetings with other professionals and family members

·Provide hands-on, high-quality support and companionship to service users

·Ensure the smooth running of the home in the absence of the registered manager

Hours: 42-hour week on a flexible shift system, which will include long days and on-call responsibilities.

Applicants must have achieved the Lead Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship, a Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care, or an equivalent care qualification and be willing to work towards the Leader in Adult Care Apprenticeship.
