SEND Learning Support Assistant

Timeplan Education are recruiting an experienced SEN TA to support children with SEND in an SEND school in Haringey on a full-time basis from January onwards.

Your role will be to support children with ASD, ADHD and PMLD in small groups and on 1:1 basis and run interventions in the afternoons. Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable but not essential.

The school are looking for individuals who are proactive, energetic and have a passion working with children with SEND.

Job Responsibilities

Comfortable supporting pupils with Anxiety, Depression, SEMH, and high-functioning Autism
Ability to engage and support pupils' learning
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation
Develop therapeutic relationships with pupils
To understand therapy goals and aims
To promote and support the inclusion of all pupils in learning activities and maximise their achievement

We are currently recruiting for proactive and confident Teaching Assistants to support children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and ASD. A number of primary and secondary schools in Hounslow are looking for individuals with experience or a keen willingness to learn how to assist children with additional needs, particularly those with SEMH or Special Educational Needs (SEN).

In this role, you'll work with students either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups within a classroom environment. The pupils you support will range from ages 2 to 19 and may have conditions such as Autism, ADHD, challenging behaviours, and physical disabilities like Down Syndrome. Your support will extend to the classroom, specialist mentoring sessions, and occasionally during break times. Some students may exhibit more challenging behaviours, and training in relevant intervention techniques will be provided.

As part of the child's support team, you'll collaborate closely with the SENCO, senior staff, and external professionals such as therapists, healthcare experts, and CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services).
