Be a part of a caring Year 4 team, supporting the class and giving three pupils with ASD the steady, calm support they need to thrive.

We're looking for a resilient and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted rated "Good" primary school in Northfield. You'll be working in a Year 4 class, specifically supporting 3 pupils in the class with ASD and challenging behaviour stay engaged and reduce behaviour incidents through clear routines and positive, steady support. You'll play a key part in keeping the classroom settled and ready for learning.

Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and inclusion team, you'll deliver simple interventions, use behaviour strategies and apply de-escalation techniques when needed. You'll also support whole-class learning and help ensure daily routines run smoothly.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and challenging behaviour
  • Confident using strong behaviour management strategies, de-escalation techniques and emotional-regulation support
  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification and/or at least 12 months' experience as a Teaching Assistant
  • Experience supporting pupils 1:1, in small groups and delivering simple intervention sessions
  • Good understanding of the UK primary curriculum
  • A calm, patient and caring approach to working with children
  • Strong communication skills
