Outreach ESOL Tutor in Bromley

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Prospero Teaching is looking for an Outreach ESOL Tutor to deliver 1:1 support to young people in Bromley who are currently not attending school.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate and skilled tutor who is passionate about personalised learning and supporting vulnerable learners, including those with no educational background and those with EAL needs and low literacy levels.

As an Outreach Tutor, you'll have the flexibility to plan and deliver tailored ESOL sessions that not only develop English language skills but also help build confidence, life skills, and academic progress. Learners benefit from an interest-led approach, so your creativity and ability to connect content to their real-world experiences will be key.

You will be supported by the Prospero Teaching team and may collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic, inclusive, and supportive approach to each student's development.

This role is ideal for experienced teachers or ESOL tutors who are seeking flexible, part-time work and who are passionate about making a real impact.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

Location - Bromley
Position - Outreach ESOL Tutor

Duration / Likely Duration - Dependent on each student

Contract type - Temporary
Full time/part time - Part-time (10-15 hours per week)
Minimum rate of pay - £25 per hour
Hours - Sessions are typically 1-3 hours each, flexible based on learner needs

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

Recognised teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, PGCE) or ESOL-specific qualification
Minimum 6 months experience working in a UK school or educational setting
Experience working with EAL/ESOL learners
Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable but not essential)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional, child-related references covering the last two yearsOTHER
