Secondary Religious Studies Teacher required - November 2020 - Rossendale
£120 - £180 per day
This exciting Secondary Religious Studies Teacher position available for a long term role and starting in November 2020 is the perfect opportunity to join an Ofsted 'Outstanding' secondary school in the Rossendale area.
Are you fascinated by religion? As an enthusiastic Religious Education Teacher are you able to engage young people in learning about different cultures and beliefs around the world?
This Religious Education / Religious Studies Teacher position will teach a variable timetable of both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 class groups (and potentially some A-Level classes for the right candidate). The successful candidate will be required to plan and deliver engaging lessons that challenge students of all abilities and promote good progress. Opportunity for discussion and debate should be built into lessons where appropriate.
The school follows the GCSE Edexcel course (which includes Christianity and Islam) and the WJEC A-level course (which includes Christianity, Philosophy of Religion and Religion & Ethics).

Teachers of all experience levels will be considered for the role, including NQTs
To be considered for the role you should have:
Recognised teaching qualification PGCE or equivalent (QTS).
The ability to quickly build positive relationships with both staff and students.
Strong subject knowledge of the English curriculum including the new GCSE

Current DBS registered with the DBS Update Service - if you do not have a DBS registered online PK Education will provide full assistance in getting you one.
