At Elizabeth House we offer a service for the treatment of mental and emotional disorders through the provision of medical, psychological and nursing interventions supported by other members of the multi-disciplinary team which are designed to encourage communication of conflicts and insight into problems, with the goal being relief of symptoms, changes in behaviour leading to improved social and vocational functioning and personal growth.
Our services are provided across three wards - currently two wards are dedicated to the care and treatment of acute mental illness in females, and one ward is dedicated to the care and treatment of acute mental illness in males.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Night site coordinator to join the team!
Main Purpose of the Role
The Night Site Coordinator is responsible for leading the nursing team during night shifts, assessing patient health needs, implementing appropriate care plans, administering care, and ensuring accurate maintenance of medical records. The role also involves overseeing the safe and effective operation of the site overnight.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall management and coordination of the site during night shifts.
- Monitor and triage incoming referrals.
- Manage and resolve issues arising overnight and make informed decisions about when to escalate to on-call support.
- Support the implementation of organisational policies and procedures.
- Supervise, train, and support staff, including participation in appraisals where required.
- Maintain professional conduct at all times in line with the NMC Code.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR in relation to all documents, knowledge, and information obtained in the role.
- Deliver patient-centred care by assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating treatment and care.
- Lead and promote evidence-based care across the wards.
- Actively participate as part of the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
- Support and ensure effective medicines management.
- Prioritise workloads and patient care appropriately.
- Provide visible leadership and support to the nursing team.
- Supervise, mentor, and support junior staff members.
- Ensure health and safety standards are maintained for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain all mandatory training requirements.
- Contribute to effective resource and staffing management.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and service development.
- Undertake any reasonable tasks requested by the line manager or senior management.
Person Specification
- Registered Nurse (RMN) with NMC registration.
- Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience.
- Relevant clinical experience.
- Positive attitude and commitment to quality improvement and service development.
- Flexible, proactive, and innovative in problem-solving.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Good IT and clinical system skills.
- Strong organisational and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of CQC regulations and compliance requirements.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
