Concept Technologist

Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum
Reports to: Product Developer / Concept Developer

Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Concept Technologist to join our dynamic Product Development team. This hands-on role supports the transformation of creative briefs into tangible product concepts through kitchen development, technical support, and cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities:

* Collaborate closely with the Product Developer to interpret briefs into innovative product concepts through hands-on kitchen development and detailed documentation.

* Identify new raw materials and work with the Product Developer to initiate sourcing in line with company raw material sourcing policies.

* Provide support to the Concept Developer by ensuring all documentation and records are completed accurately and on time throughout the development process.

* Participate in the organoleptic assessment (taste, texture, aroma, appearance) of products during various stages of development.

* Engage with cross-functional teams (e.g., Technical, Procurement, Commercial, Operations) to ensure smooth communication and alignment throughout the development cycle.

* Develop and refine product concepts in accordance with established stage gate processes and internal procedures.

* Support with customer presentations, sample submissions, and visits as required.

Keyskills and Experiences:

* A background or strong interest in food science, culinary arts, or product development.

* Hands-on experience in a development kitchen or food manufacturing environment is desirable.

* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in both practical and administrative tasks.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with data entry and documentation.
