Hours: 1 or 2 days per week
About The Role
SuperCare is a rapidly growing provider of Residential Children's Homes across London and the South East. We support young people with complex communication needs, neurodiversity, SEMH presentations, learning disabilities, and developmental differences.
We are now seeking a dedicated Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join our Clinical & Therapy Team on a part?time basis. Working 1 or 2 days per week across multiple homes, you will play a vital role in supporting young people to develop their communication, interaction, and social?emotional skills.
As an SLT, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team including Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Behaviour Analysts, Registered Managers, and Residential Care Teams to ensure communication?supportive, therapeutic environments across our homes.
Key Responsibilities
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will:


  • Complete communication and language assessments to identify individual needs.

  • Develop and deliver personalised communication programmes for young people.

  • Support young people in developing expressive/receptive language, social communication, and functional interaction skills.

  • Provide 1:1 and small?group interventions within the home environment.

  • Implement and monitor AAC systems (e.g., visuals, PECS, communication books, high?tech AAC).

  • Train and coach staff teams in communication?supportive strategies.

  • Work collaboratively within the MDT to ensure consistent, needs?led support.

  • Attend MDT meetings, placement reviews, clinical discussions, and staff handovers (as required for part time hours).

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and safeguarding?compliant clinical notes.

  • Prepare communication resources, visuals, and environmental adaptations.

  • Participate in clinical supervision.

  • Engage in CPD, reflective practice, and relevant training.

  • Work sensitively with children who may have experienced trauma, neurodiversity, SEMH needs, attachment difficulties, or communication challenges.


About You
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Speech and Language Therapist with experience supporting children and young people. You should have:


  • A BSc/MSc in Speech and Language Therapy

  • HCPC registration (required for qualified SLTs)

  • Experience working with children or young people with communication needs, neurodiversity, or SEMH

  • Knowledge of AAC, social communication interventions, and language development

  • Someone proactive, organised, and confident working independently across multiple sites

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills

  • A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach with a genuine commitment to improving young people's communication and quality of life


(Experience in residential care, SEN, CAMHS, or social care settings is highly advantageous.)
