An Assistant Management Accountant is sought to provide essential support to the finance department during a critical period of a merger. The role entails collaborating closely with the Finance Manager to facilitate seamless financial accounting within the organisation, aiding with the impending audit, and playing a key role in the merger process.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Produce monthly management accounts and monitor income from various sources.
  • Assist in designing and implementing process improvements for financial functions.
  • Engage in financial planning, including the production of budgets and forecasts.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining good order and escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Support accruals and prepayments with monthly reconciliation.
  • Analyse and interpret monthly management accounts.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and monitor depreciation.
  • Develop reporting in line with key performance indicators.
  • Assist in the preparation of material for statutory audits.
  • Liaise with stakeholders regarding financial information relevant to the merger.
  • Provide variance analysis and communicate findings to budget holders.
  • Offer training and guidance to internal stakeholders on financial matters.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving finance processes and outputs.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in respect of personal data in line with Martlets’ policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in producing management accounts and financial analysis.
  • ACCA part qualified or qualified by experience.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes and accounting principles.
  • Proficient in reconciliation and financial reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
