Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive educational setting in Llanelli. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including those with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), autism, ADHD, and other additional learning needs.

This SEN Teaching Assistant role involves working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support in line with individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). You will provide one-to-one and small group support, assist with differentiated learning activities, and help create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment where pupils can thrive academically and socially.

The role requires strong safeguarding awareness, effective behaviour management strategies, and the ability to build positive, professional relationships with students. Experience working within SEN provisions, alternative provisions, or mainstream schools supporting additional needs is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will be patient, resilient, and committed to promoting positive learning outcomes.

Knowledge of safeguarding policies, behaviour support plans, and collaborative working practices is essential. The SEN Teaching Assistant will also contribute to monitoring student progress, supporting emotional regulation strategies, and encouraging independence and confidence in learners.

Candidates should possess strong communication skills, flexibility, and relevant qualifications in education or childcare. Key Skills and Qualifications:

Experience working in a school or SEN setting

Relevant qualifications such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent

Strong understanding of SEN, EBD, autism, and behavioural support strategies
