Job Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join the Children and Young People Team in Islington on an ongoing full-time locum basis. This rewarding role offers the chance to support children and young people with diverse needs, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), with a significant proportion of the caseload involving autistic children and young people.

Working within a multidisciplinary mainstream therapy team, you will deliver specialised occupational therapy interventions aimed at improving participation, independence and overall wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and prioritise a diverse paediatric caseload, delivering high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions

  • Support children and young people with autism and additional educational needs through tailored therapeutic strategies

  • Contribute to effective case management and ongoing care planning

  • Work collaboratively within an integrated multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic interventions

  • Participate in clinical governance activities including audits, service development and quality improvement initiatives

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with professional standards

Person SpecificationEssential

  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist

  • Experience working with children and young people within community or educational settings

  • Knowledge of EHCP processes and paediatric therapy approaches

  • Strong communication, organisational and clinical reasoning skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Desirable

  • Experience supporting autistic children and young people

  • Full UK driving licence to support community-based visits
