Job Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join the Children and Young People Team in Islington on an ongoing full-time locum basis. This rewarding role offers the chance to support children and young people with diverse needs, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), with a significant proportion of the caseload involving autistic children and young people.
Working within a multidisciplinary mainstream therapy team, you will deliver specialised occupational therapy interventions aimed at improving participation, independence and overall wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and prioritise a diverse paediatric caseload, delivering high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions
Support children and young people with autism and additional educational needs through tailored therapeutic strategies
Contribute to effective case management and ongoing care planning
Work collaboratively within an integrated multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic interventions
Participate in clinical governance activities including audits, service development and quality improvement initiatives
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with professional standards
Person SpecificationEssential
HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist
Experience working with children and young people within community or educational settings
Knowledge of EHCP processes and paediatric therapy approaches
Strong communication, organisational and clinical reasoning skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
