Full Job Description

Join Cardno's Science and Environment team in Santa Barbara, CA to play an integral role in completing archaeological survey, testing, data recovery, and monitoring.

Job Description:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
> All phases of archaeological work including pedestrian survey, testing, data recovery, and monitoring
> Report and form preparation
> Technical writing
> Data management
> Supervision and mentoring of junior staff
> Provide support to senior staff

Basic Qualifications:
> Graduate degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or closely related field of study with Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or closely related field of study

> At least 4 years of relevant experience required with at least 2 of those years in field archaeology and 2 of those years in leadership or field director role
> Qualified or ability to qualify as a Field Director for the Bureau of Land Management

> Qualified or ability to qualify as a Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA)

> Meet Secretary of the Interior's (SOI) Professional Qualifications Standards for archaeology
> Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
> Ability and willingness to frequently travel to field sites that will be located throughout the state
> Working knowledge of GPS handheld units
> Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and walk up to ten miles per day in varying terrain and weather

> Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate motorized vehicles

> Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines; simultaneously work on and manage multiple tasks/projects, while working in a fast-paced environment

> Strong organizational skills
> Excellent oral and written communication skills
> Detail oriented; resourceful
