Job Description

 

We are a fun, furry, professional, and experienced pet sitting service looking for a positive and committed team member to support operations for the OUG! Madison location. The Canine Concierge works directly with the Office Manager(Packer Leader) to manage, support, and assist local operations including Pet Parent and Sitter support. The ideal candidate will be trained to become a fantastic pet sitter, have the necessary skills to train and mentor new staff, but will primarily work in the office managing incoming Pet Parent reservations and organizing staff schedules.

 

Position responsibilities will include:

o   Pet Parent / Customer Support: answering phones calls, responding to emails, updating home and pet information, and scheduling visits.

o   Sitter Staff Support:  supporting existing sitter staff including routing visits, staffing house sitting, after hours, and add on visits, monitoring sitter route check-ins, and supporting the sitter staff with pet and / or home care related questions.

 

o   New Sitter Onboarding & Support:  Conduct training classroom training and ride along sessions as needed as part of the new hire training process. 

o   Overflow Dog Walking/Pet Sitter: Provide pet sitting/dog walking services when the level of visits surpasses our sitter staff allocation, last minute Pet Parent requests or when sitter absences occur.

o   Additional / General Support:  key drop-offs, organization of the Madison Pet Parent keys, support of all office activities including, but are not exclusive to, duplicating keys, dropping off deposits, general errands, office cleaning and organization, and office supply management.

 

The right person must be:

o   Self-motivated and possesses a positive “can do” attitude

o   Very good multi-tasking and managing details

o   Happy, friendly, and great with people

o   An experienced and knowledgeable lover of dogs, cats, and other pets (personal or professional okay)

o   Experience managing staff a plus

o   Must enjoy working in a fun, funny, furry, and high paced slightly frantic (at times) environment

o   Strong PC/technical skills

 

Hours and Compensation:

Between $13-15 per hour. Compensation based on experience, two weeks’ vacation, one week of sick time and paid holidays.

Hours: 7-3pm Monday through Friday.  The ideal candidate will have flexibility to work slightly more or less when needed. This position also requires on call responsibilities which include one evening per week, one weekend per month and two holidays per year.
