Responsible for: Accounts team

Salary : £40-45K

Location : Halstead area (own transport required)

Monday to Friday : 40 hour week on site

Based near Halstead, our client is a successful engineering/manufacturing company who are market leaders in their field. An opportunity has arisen for a driven finance manager to join their team and assist in the future development of the business and its wider group.

Working with the Group Finance Director, this role will primarily be responsible for providing accurate and up to date information to the board of directors on a timely basis to meet the business requirements. This role involves managing a team of four, ensuring they receive mentorship to aid their development. Leadership and guidance will need to be provided to the team in order to consistently meet the expectations of the board.

Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Manage the team to ensure the timely and accurate generation of monthly management accounts for the five trading entities including posting of accruals, prepayments and other month end adjustments as necessary.

· Ensure that balance sheet reconciliations are carried out promptly so as to maintain a clean balance sheet with no aged or unresolved items.

· Daily monitoring and updating of the company cashflow models in order to maintain sufficient levels of working capital. Authorise company payments as required.

· Keep the Fixed asset registers up to date and ensure the correct depreciation rates are applied.

· Oversee intercompany debtor/creditor reconciliations.

· Control the bi-monthly stocktake process

o Set up count sheets

o Analyse results

o Track counted / not counted parts

· Manage the month end close of company ledgers

· Reconcile WIP/GRNI and investigate differences.

· Prepare the quarterly vat returns for the group.

· Assist in the Year End process including audit file preparation, stock control and budget preparation.

Requirements

· Part Qualified or qualified by experience

· Knowledge of Access Supply Chain and Sage is an advantage

· Ability to drive (due to job location)

· Team player

· Good knowledge of Excel/Word/Office software
