We are working with a truly supportive and child-centred school in Liverpool that is looking for passionate, proactive, and emotionally intelligent SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team from September 2025.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN), including those with autism, social-emotional needs, and other additional learning requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with SEN, adapting approaches to suit individual needs.

*

Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.

*

Support children with complex emotional needs using a trauma-informed and nurturing approach.

*

Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and emotional wellbeing.

*

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.

*

Support with personal care needs where required.

*

Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and staff regarding progress and development.

*

Ensure safeguarding and child protection policies are followed at all times.

What You Need

*

Team Teach certification.

*

Makaton training.

*

A trauma-informed mindset with experience supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

*

Willingness to complete Epilepsy and Anaphylaxis training (courses provided).

*

Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Bonus Skills & Experience

*

Food Hygiene training.

*

Previous experience supporting children with autism (ASC) or complex learning needs.

*

Knowledge of therapeutic or nurture-based approaches.
