Are you an experienced payroll professional looking to join a growing, dynamic company?

Our client is looking for a Payroll Officer to join their friendly, fast-paced payroll bureau team.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality end-to-end payroll services to a portfolio of clients across multiple sectors. You will also support auto-enrolment pension duties and provide outstanding communication and support to clients on payroll and pension-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

End-to-end payroll processing for a variety of clients (including starters, leavers, adjustments, bonuses, statutory payments, etc.)
Administration of auto-enrolment pensions including setup, uploads, contribution reporting and ongoing compliance
First point of contact for client queries related to payroll and pensions - via phone and email
Manage multiple payroll frequencies (weekly, fortnightly and mainly monthly)
Submission of RTI and year-end returns to HMRC
Produce payslips, P45s, P60s and other statutory documents
Maintain accurate client payroll records and documentation
Ensure all payroll tasks are completed in line with internal deadlines and statutory obligations
Liaise with HMRC and pension providers where needed
Support the management team with internal process improvements and client onboarding
Requirements:

Proven experience in a payroll bureau or multi-client payroll environment
Strong understanding of PAYE, NIC, statutory payments and pension auto-enrolment
Excellent communication and client service skills
High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Confident using payroll software (experience with BrightPay, Xero Payroll, QuickBooks, Moneysoft or similar is advantageous)
A recognised payroll qualification (CIPP or equivalent) is desirable but not essential
Possibility to support professional development, including financial and study support towards gaining a formal payroll qualification
