I'm recruiting on behalf of an exceptional ASD specialist primary school in Hillingdon. They're looking for a committed, patient, and energetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a day-to-day, term-time contract, with the genuine potential to progress into a long-term or permanent role for the right person.

The school is highly structured and specifically designed to support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Their environment focuses on communication, emotional regulation, sensory needs, and helping pupils build confidence and independence. The successful candidate will be joining a highly supportive team that includes teachers, therapists, and experienced SEN professionals.

About the Role:
The position involves supporting pupils with a range of ASD-related needs in both 1:1 and small-group settings. The role requires someone who can follow structured teaching approaches, adapt learning activities, and work with visual communication systems. You'll be helping to maintain routines, reduce anxiety, and create a calm, predictable learning environment where pupils can genuinely thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting pupils with ASD across EYFS and primary classes

Using structured strategies such as visual timetables, now/next boards, social stories, and task breakdowns

Delivering 1:1 and group interventions focused on communication, regulation, and learning

Supporting sensory needs through movement breaks, sensory tools, and environmental adjustments

Encouraging communication using PECS, Makaton, and visual support systems

Assisting with personal care and emotional wellbeing where required

Working with teachers to adapt resources and create low-arousal classrooms

Promoting positive behaviour and supporting smooth transitions

Maintaining safeguarding and ensuring pupil safety
