Transport Planner - Durham

Jackson Hogg have partnered with a leading distributor in Durham who are looking for a Transport Planner to join their team and manage pallet network operations.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 12:00 - 19:30
Salary: DOE

Key Responsibilities:

Plan daily collection and delivery routes for palletised freight across the depot area.

*

Coordinate trunking operations to and from the pallet network hub, ensuring all departures meet network deadlines.

*

Monitor vehicle utilisation and route efficiency to optimise operational performance.

*

Manage inbound and outbound pallet volumes, ensuring correct allocation to delivery routes.

*

Liaise with drivers regarding route plans, collection schedules, and delivery priorities.

*

Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure freight is loaded in the correct sequence.

*

Collaborate with the pallet network control team regarding ETAs, service issues, or exceptions.

*

Address operational challenges such as missed collections, delays, or damaged freight.

*

Maintain accurate records and update transport management systems.

*

Ensure compliance with driver hours regulations and company transport policies.

Skills & Experience:

*

Previous experience as a Transport Planner, ideally within a pallet network environment.

*

Strong understanding of pallet network operations and hub cut-off times.

*

Good geographical knowledge of UK road networks.

*

Excellent organisational and communication skills.
