Grounds Maintenance Operative

Location: Weybridge

Type: Permanent

Salary: £15.62 per hour - £16.70 per hour

Prime Job Purpose: To perform and oversee maintenance tasks professionally and efficiently, consistently exceeding customer and manager expectations.

Key Requirements:

* Full UK driving license is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist in workforce management, including setting targets and monitoring performance.

* Complete and maintain necessary documentation.

* Provide effective leadership and guidance to team members.

* Maintain the depot, including vans and equipment.

* Ensure timely and accurate completion of work.

* Support the Supervisor and Contracts Manager as needed.

* Understand contract documentation such as specifications and billing systems.

* Develop and delegate tasks and monitor team performance.

Main Tasks:

* Supervise teams of employees/sub-contractors daily, allocate tasks, maintain work standards, secure areas, and lock barriers/gates.

* Ensure quality service delivery within your area of operation.

* Perform grass cutting, raking, edging, weeding, sweeping, litter picking, and leaf collection.

* Assist periodically with horticultural operations like planting, pruning, and tree maintenance.

* Apply chemicals as needed.

* Provide exceptional customer experience and foster strong, long-term relationships.

* Manage contracts profitably and effectively, ensuring tendered margins are met.

* Uphold and represent company philosophies and values to all stakeholders.

* Implement and adhere to all company Health and Safety procedures.

* Communicate significant issues to the Senior Contracts Manager promptly.

* Exceed customer expectations with a polite and professional attitude.

* Communicate with customers professionally and report feedback accurately to managers.

* Promote the company and provide potential leads from sites and local press.

* Wear the correct corporate clothing and ensure vehicles and machinery are well-presented and sites are clean.

* Work efficiently and follow company systems and procedures.

* Adhere to the company's Health & Safety Policy and use the correct PPE. Report health & safety issues and ensure safe use of plant/equipment.

* Maintain reliable attendance and follow company absence procedures.

* Help control costs and avoid wastage.

* Know the correct machinery for tasks and ensure proper maintenance checks and records.

* Utilise effective work practices, take responsibility for delivering quality service, and suggest productivity improvements.

* Ensure the security of company buildings, vehicles, machinery, and materials
