Salary - £50,000 to £60,000 (Negotiable based on experience)


An opportunity has arisen to join one of the most reputable motorsport manufacturers in the world. With the second half of the F1 season under way, this client is actively recruiting for an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join their team.

Due to many modifications being made to their Formula 1 car they are looking for an experienced Control Systems Engineer to come in and support on writing control systems. These must meet the FIA Standard and the successful candidate will support on running the systems within the factory.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating as a Control Systems Engineer ideally in the motorsport sector. With the main objective of supporting the Design Office and ensuring that the control system meets the FIA Standards.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to a team of engineers responsible for supporting our F1 transmission running at customers facilities during race / test events.
Perform data analysis and write algorithms to assess reliability and performance.
Generate prompt and accurate reports to communicate faults, concerns, and potential improvements during events.
Undertake calibration development to ensure reliability and deliver performance.
Identify improvements and write control systems for the SECU. 

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have: -

More than 2 years' experience working in a similar area of the automotive industry (preferably performance vehicles) with an understanding of vehicle transmissions, hydraulic and electronic systems.
Experience writing and testing control systems using Matlab / Simulink.
Understanding of time series data analysis using Matlab or other similar tools.
A strong engineering-based degree including specialisations such as mechanical, control, electronic engineering or similar.
High attention to detail, enjoy problem solving and able to work with limited supervision to tight deadlines.
